Dianurse
I designed the end-to-end user experience of an e-health product for chronic diabetes patients, enabling efficient engagement with healthcare professionals for essential support in disease management.
Problem
Healthcare access in Bulgaria posed significant challenges for both patients and doctors. Patients struggled to find the right doctor for their specific conditions and often felt unsafe and out of control regarding their disease management. On the other hand, doctors faced difficulties in efficiently managing patient data, which led to longer consultation times and inefficiencies in their workflow. These issues created gaps in healthcare access, making it difficult for patients to receive timely and effective medical attention.
Solution
The project adopted a continuous discovery-delivery approach to develop a comprehensive solution. By analyzing competitors, creating user personas, mapping user flows, and testing wireframes, we refined the design to address the most pressing user needs. The final product included a public webpage, design system documentation, a well-structured component library, and an intuitive brand design. The product was focused on chronic diabetes patients, offering an efficient engagement model with health coaches to support disease management. This holistic approach improved the experience for both patients and doctors.

Key Learnings
Remote usability testing played a crucial role in identifying necessary design adjustments, leading to measurable improvements. Refinements to the handoff files and implementation had a significant impact on key performance metrics, demonstrating a 25-30% improvement in patient task completion for searching and booking appointments and a 15-25% increase in efficiency for doctors when managing their schedules and prescriptions. Stakeholder feedback was overwhelmingly positive, leading to an extended project scope and contract duration. Additionally, the Dianurse design system provided a scalable library of reusable components, facilitating faster product upgrades and app expansion.
Next Steps
Future enhancements will focus on further refining the user experience, expanding accessibility features, and integrating additional functionalities to improve doctor-patient interactions.
Leveraging data analytics, we aim to personalize recommendations for patients, ensuring they connect with the best-suited healthcare professionals.
Continue optimizing the design system to support rapid scalability. As the project evolves, incorporating advanced solutions for healthcare insights and automating routine tasks will further streamline the platform’s effectiveness, ultimately enhancing healthcare accessibility in Bulgaria and beyond.
